DADDY'S DRINKS

CHAMPAGNE PUNCH

50 ml of Gin,
100 ml of Limoncello,
750 ml of Champagne,
ice cubes and mint leaves.
Mix gin and limoncello in 8 glasses.
Add ice and mint and pour the champagne over.

 

aunt verna's elderflower juice

40 flower clusters
2 lemons
2 kg sugar
80 g citric acid
2 L boiling water

Rinse the flower clusters thourughly to discard any bugs. 
Then place the clusters into a big pot.
Wash the lemons and slice them thin. Mix lemon, sugar and citric acid in the pot
and pour over the boiling water, then mix everything thoroughly. 
Tie a clean kitchen towel around the pot like a seal and store it somewhere cold, but not
refrigerator cold. A basement works perfectly! Let the juice sit for five days, no more. 
Make sure to stir daily and pressing the lemon slices against the rim to extract
lemon juice. Pour the juice through a cheesecloth, but don't force, it let it pour through by itself. 
Pour up the yellow faded juice and store it cold, preferably in the fridge. The juice can be stored for months and if you pour it into plastic containers it can be frozen. But only fill them three quarters of the way since the juice will expand when frozen.
 dilute with water and serve with a sliced lemon or lime. The juice works perfectly as a base for drinks!
 

 

Whiskey Sour

3/4 cups of Whiskey,
1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice,
1/2 cups of fresh lime juice,
2/3 cups of sugar syrup.
Top it off with some ice cubes and cherries
